Lookin' good! The vent door isn't a fab job, it's from an earlier Patrol. The earlier ones were flat.

Oh, Well I'm still going to need a new one from the later model. On the back side of the vent door it looked like a fab job... Didn't look as I would expect a factory to produce.
Really bad welding job on the back.

Someone may have welded on the tab for the mount and the handle. The tab was different on the different vent doors, and the only way to make the older one work right was to switch the tab over.

by the way River, Thanks to your post on the barn find Patrol, I have decided to paint mine the original color. Code 562, Andrew was mistaken and got the 563 (tuquiose) paint and had done some painting on the interior. It doesn't match. I just couldn't bring my self to do the 563, But seing the Barn find Patrol The 562 looks pretty dang good! Will make the Paint job a little easier and have a better result with the interior which I don't want to do much too as it looks pretty good. Just won't match.

Here is a good site with the Nissan paint chips from the 60's:

http://www.311s.org/pmwiki-311/pmwiki.p ... PaintCodes

From this website, I am pretty sure both your Patrol (and Lou's Barn find) are both #562 Turquoise.

#563 is Sora Blue, and that is a color that I don't think ever came on a Patrol from the factory

the other Patrol Blue is #567 - which is darker than your Patrol.- #567 is the color that the restored softtop on bringatrailer.com was painted with:

Here is another one (from your neck of the woods) that is also painted the #562 Turquoise:

You know its funny you say that, as I have now seen both paint codes swapped but most have the 562 with turquoise. The bottom pic I have seen that shot befor. I swear I know right where they took that pic, just can't remember where or when I've been there. Luo's doesn't really look turquoise to me but I guess the lighting has some thing to do with it. The bottom pic you posted is definatly turquoise! I am so torn on what paint color to spray it. Really would love to stay original.... Just don't feel great about turquoise. I will be accenting with Black. Wheels, bumper, etc. My other thought was white. Not sure how that will set with the Turquoise interior. FUUdge!
