New owner of a 67 Patrol

Post by ckhorne »

Just wanted to introduce myself-

I recently bought a 1967 Patrol - the famed one with the CJ5 rear end. I've been looking for a project, and although I'm not a master mechanic, I'm ready to jump in and learn.

And from the ~100 mile drive home the other day, it looks like I'll have a number of things to learn, starting with rear diffs. :)

Welcome to 60Patrol! :text-welcomewave: You've come to the right place for Patrol information. Don't hesitate to ask any question. Except, I don't think there is much info here on CJ diffs. :? There are probably members that have some knowledge on Jeep diffs though.
Beyond any hope for intervention

My hope is to completely swap out the rear end... the axles are locked, which makes turning interesting.

I'll start a new thread in the right forum about the rear end.

Thanks for the warm welcome!

Welcome! These old Patrols are a great starting point to "jump in and learn". Is the diff weld locked or is it a Limited Slip gone bad? Us Aussies arnt to familiar with Jeep diffs.
