3 hours work this morning !! Now help my mate empty his trailer so we can take the scrap metal to the tip.

To late all gone. Engine in drivewaym rear diff in drive for Ferdy. Side steps were shagged , really bad. Mud flaps were rotten anyway.

Bigger picture

Remember I have Gibbo's wreck coming and need this gone.

Next up to prepare the 72. Will place HP in the shed and 1972 in driveway. Complete MQ diff swap, fix a few fuel lines, place rubber hose on 2nd fuel tank and just prepare it for a body to go on !!! This will all be easier outside so again will spend another day just moving it all around. Have 5 weeks to prepare and also colect the wreck and unbolt all ready for D Day.

Just talking aloud for me now so this may not make sense

1- Take boat trailer off ute
2- Place 2 engines/ gearboxes on ute
3- Place slipway winch on ute
3a - Place LPG tank on ute
4- Tow out 72
5- Place firewall in storage
6- Place 4wd shelves in storage
7- Remove steering
8- Change front diff over
9- Fix fuel line (re-route) through engine mount hole
10- Connect up dual fuel tank lines and switch
11- Connect up filler hose for 2nd tank
12- Install tailshafts
13- Install gear levers and handbrake
14- Fix 1 busted mount for original fuel tank
15- Note place 72 sideways in driveway.
16- Place HP chassis on stands so engines dont shag suspensions
17 - Collect Gibbo wreck 26th April
18 - Prepare Gibbo wreck for body removal
19- D day 17th May

Well if you have seen my 400hp patrol in the other section I got some more work done today.

super fine wet type paper doesnt take much rubbing youre just scuffing it very mildly making it lay flat !!

The original plan was to lift the complete body off in one go !!! HAd 8-10 bodies lined up for the event !!!

HOWEVER. Mr Gibbo has out done himself and successfully STRIPPED Mr Bog which has/ will cause me some issue.

1- Door hinge bolts are missing nuts on the inside (the captive ones)
2- Other things also missing as he did a GREAT job stripping her. More then what I have ever done.

3- After playing with some rust holes today I'm don't want to fix the rest.
4- I'm quite happy with my Spray job using Killrust enamel. So have decidedwill use the Original front end and floorplan and the Mr Bog rear end. This way if the 2" BL stuffs up the tub it won't care, as I will not be putting blocks for the tub supports.

5- I will still hold the BBQ and we can lift the tub across from Mr Bog to the chassis so that's cool.

Well finished the rear tub and she is straight (wink) and all painted, inside and out.

Hopefully next weekend I can get the original floorpan and firewall cleaned up and sprayed.

Only finished spraying at nigtfall so will try and get some photos tomorrow morning.

Well couldnt resist and took, some photos.

Gibbo, if you have them handy I will take the door catches as just make everything easier.

I had left over paint in the gun so i just sprayed panels for the sake of it. I made a few errors with the second coat as i thinned it a bit yo much and got a few runs

Well this was all I had from rmp before it closed.

Hopefully once the 73 sells I can get back into this project as really not that much to do.

From what I recall before I stashed her in storage in early 2012 and those not familiar with the history.

1972 Soft Top MWB G60
Fully stripped, sandblasted, POR 15
Upgraded wiring loom
MQ Diffs front and rear with lockers f/r 4.33 ratios
Fully rebuilt engine and 3 spd ($5k of receipts, I paid $1500 from old member, never used yet)
I have tailshafts adapted from MQ diffs to G60 transfer from BuiltG60
Body was all rust free , but has been cleaned and lightly painted
Thomas PTO winch fitted


Remaining items
1- Connect tailshafts
2- finish wiring up engine
3- Get started
4- Rebuild front hubs/ discs/ brakes
5- Bleed brakes
6- Connect Sway bars
7- Install new shocks
then drive the bugger silly

After having have driven the 5 speed and 3 speed, I much prefer the 3 spd, so quite happy having all rebuilt stuff.
