Routing Fuel Line

Hi guys, how's it going ? I finally purchased some copper fuel line to make a fuel line like the original 60's patrol did. But i don't know how to route it the correct way to the Carby. I've seen it go directly vertical from the fuel pump up between the block and alternator bracket and over the thermostat in between the rocker cover and the thermostat. what's the correct way to route it ?

I would like to have copper again in the engine compartment. What size do I need to buy? Is the fuel line in the picture the one held in place by the clamp on the hoist point?
