Hello, I'm new to your group
Hi, I have an oppurtunity to buy a 1969 Nissan Patrol, The only thing is it has been sitting for 6 years and I am not sure were can I get parts and are they fairly easy to get nd at a desent price? If anyone can help me out with some answers I would greatly appreciate it. I will buy it if I knew I could fix it up and enjoy it, it is a sweet looking ride thats for sure. thanks, Jen

Parts are not easy to get, but http://www.rmp-o.com/ can get most stuff for a '69. Because the vehicles are so rare in the states, there are no aftermarket parts available here, so the parts are not going to be cheap, either. And there will be some things that you just absolutely cannot get - like front turn signal lenses. Alternatives can be used, though. But that's all part of what keeps owning a Patrol from getting boring. You have to be very creative to accumulate the parts that you need. Work with the Patrol community - this site and others - and you end up making contacts that can be sources for parts. Never think that you can go to your local parts store and find something that will work on the Patrol, except maybe a fuel filter or oil filter. Nissan still carries some things, but you'll have to give them a part number because they don't even have parts books for them anymore. As long as you buy it with the above understanding, it will be easier to really enjoy what the vehicle is and can do. But don't think that you can get it totally fixed up in a short amount of time: you can probably get it driveable relatively quickly but it will take a while finding all the other odds and ends. Buy it and enjoy it.

Hello, I'm new to your group
My Patrol sat for 10 years, never having being started. A shot of ether in the carb, some gas in the tank, and a battery got it running in less than 5 minutes!!What ever is missing or broken on it can be replaced with used parts, new parts, or retro-fitted parts. Patrols are very simply made. Theyre not all that hard to keep up and running!
