Thanks for the offer, but I should be able to find something local around here. I kind of would like it before Thursday this week when I plan on going out to visit the Patrol again, and hopefully finish the brakes once and for all. All I have left is this line, and then to bleed them. Hopefully that's all that's left . I'll see what I can find in the next couple days. Thanks again!

We have a NAPA not too far away so I'll give them a try, hopefully they will have more knowledge than the guys I found at the other two places I visited today We also have a great brake repair place even closer that might do something like this too.

That should be standard 5/16 double flare. Double flare is for brake line application, single flare is for fuel line application. I have never heard of a bubble flare, I think they are referring to the single flare.

Well I had some success this weekend, but the brakes still don't work overall. Nobody really wanted to make a brake line for me because they said it was so small, and there bending tools wouldn't make such small bends, so I just bought a couple 8" 3/16ths standard flare (which I found out from a brake shop is actually what they call double flare on the package) and decided to bend them myself. I bought a couple since they were only $2.50 each in case I screwed up the first one. Here is my result:

The fitting seems to work fine, so I think it's OK.

Now here is the problem: After bleeding the whole system my brake pedal still goes all the way to the floor. If I pump it twice it will apply the brakes. After pumping it and letting it go all the fluid returns to the master. I took the Patrol around the block a couple times, and after pumping twice the brakes work great, and I never lose any fluid out of the master, it always returns to the top level, but the pedal always will go to the floor the first time I press it. I checked all the fittings, and no leaks anywhere I can find. It is acting like there is still air in the system somewhere. I bled the brakes another two times, going through two quarts of brake fluid, but still I can't find the air bubble anywhere. Any ideas? Could air of gotten into the new cylinders and now bleeding won't get it out?

Sorry about the typo, i thought I typed 3/16. The pedal going to the floor on the first try sounds like your brake shoes need adjusted. If they are a long ways from contacting the drums it will take two pumps of the pedal to get the shoes to move far enough to contact the drums. Try adjusting the shoes to where they just make contact with the drums, i would bet this solves your problem.

OH, yes, that could very well be. When I removed the brakes to replace the cylinders I adjusted the shoes to the max looseness to help get the drum off. Now that I think about it I didn't adjust them back again, so I bet you are right! Thanks so much! Unfortunately I won't be going back out to see the patrol for a couple more weeks, but I will try that then!
