I could make this a really long post about my escapades during the last couple of days but I'll spare everyone.....
Part 1: Are these the right size fuses for my fuse box? I don't seem to be able to find a wiring diagram for my 1976 Columbian import. I found diagrams for 1967, 1969 and 1980 and they are all substantially different. I just want to ensure my circuits are protected properly. All the terminals are hot except for the two on the left. The two on the left are only hot when the key is on ignition. From left to right the fuse sizes are: brown-25A, yellow-20A, blue/green-30A, yellow-20A, black-25A, brown with no wires-25A. Odds are high that they are not correct.....
Part 2: While trying to install a water temp and voltmeter gauge with the dash out, one of the wires from the ignition terminal touched the dash and caused a short which melted a little insulation on the wire. I realized (imagine that) the circuit is not protected in the event of a Chernobyl type event. Once the smoke cleared, I spliced a new wire in and it works fine but I'd like some circuitry protection by installing 3 inline fuses in the 3 wires just aft of the ignition switch. It think it is a standard aftermarket ignition switch. What size fuse would I need for each wire that leads from the ignition switch?

The closest diagram will probably be the 1980, but still some differences.
At least one of the wires to the ignition is always hot. It does go through the fuse panel so it is protected.

I agree with RiverPatrol that the 1980 diagram will be the closest.
The rear combination lights are the same as yours. Alternator wiring, the same.
