Wanted, clutch friction disc and parking brake shoes

Post by richw »

IMG_8224.JPG
I'm looking for a new or relined clutch friction plate and emergency brake shoes.
I'm in the British Virgin Islands and my truck is running well. I do not want to remove the parts and send them off for re-lining, it's hurricane season and I need the truck to be mobile.
I have tried the clutch disc part numbers and cannot find any availability.
For the emergency brake I'm just reaching out to see if anyone has spare assembly.
I'm sure I am not the first to ask!

4 years ago almost to the day we were wiped out by hurricane Irma, thankfully nothing is taking aim at us as I write this but it can all change in a heartbeat!
Here's a couple of shots of 'then and now'!

30100-80001 is an early part number for the clutch disc, so it sounds like it should work. Can't vouch for the source though.
Beyond any hope for intervention

In an scanned Australian parts manual that I have, under the 30100-80001 somebody noted by hand the number 30100-90708, so I think that's a good number!

That is correct.

But if that doesn't work out, you can search for a 11" clutch disc for Ford from 1942 to 1965 with 1-3/8" x 10 spline hub from some supplier here in the states.

For example: https://www.vanpeltsalesstore.com/81T-7 ... p_778.html

That is really good info (I am probably the last to know!) -- I added this to the parts list

Yes, this forum is the best. If all else fails I have rebuilt clutch friction plate and the tool that aligns it in my inventory in Lake City. But the last time I sent a hard to find part out of that little Post Office to an international PO box it was lost....so I'm not real excited to do that again.

Plus, it will be very heavy and needs to be packed right.

Please try a commercial route first.

Patrolling in CO again soon,

OK, I have gone for the Nissanpartsdeal.com offering.
I'll let you all know how it works out.
As for alignment I guess it will be the 'whittled down broomstick' trick, that usually works well enough.
All will be revealed...
