Re: Just got a 69 Patrol
Does anyone have a suggestion on what route to take for attaining a higher top speed? I am only trying to get to the point where I can cruise on the freeway at 65. Welcome to 60patrol! I'm nearby in Lynnwood, but my Patrol lives in Kent, even closer to you. I just moved my Patrol from Ocean Shores ...

Patrol spotted in Hoquiam, WA
Hi all, I was on my home from Ocean Shores yesterday (Sunday), not in my Patrol, just arriving into the western end of Hoquiam, WA (by the High School) at around noon when I saw an approaching vehicle. I was all ready to say to my wife, "Hey an old FJ40!", but as it got closer I did a doub...

Re: Distributor
If you can't get it at the dealer, before you buy the $99 one, you might want to ask Greg at 4WD Products in Australia who has the Ebay store that sells the brake cylinders if he has them. Shipping costs from Australia might be killer, but if the price of the distributor is low enough, with shipping...

Re: Brake Wheel Cylinders
Sounds good, i'm getting ready to go through it too. I have done plenty of brakes in my time and i hope this one goes just as smooth. I went through the front and had them all apart. They are pretty easy as far as drums go. Let me know how yours comes out. I finished the latest adjustments and I ca...

Re: Front brake cylinder parts
Sorry about the typo, i thought I typed 3/16. The pedal going to the floor on the first try sounds like your brake shoes need adjusted. If they are a long ways from contacting the drums it will take two pumps of the pedal to get the shoes to move far enough to contact the drums. Try adjusting the s...

Re: Brake Wheel Cylinders
I'm getting ready to order a full set of these front and rears and i was wondering if anyone on here had any problems with getting them in? Are the brake line threads the same? I see in an earlier post that the studs are the same. Hi Socalwrencher, The brake line threads fit just fine too and they ...

Re: Front brake cylinder parts
That should be standard 5/16 double flare. Double flare is for brake line application, single flare is for fuel line application. I have never heard of a bubble flare, I think they are referring to the single flare. :D Well I had some success this weekend, but the brakes still don't work overall. N...

Re: Front brake cylinder parts
Yeah, if they are not sure dont let them touch it. You should find a Napa or some other shop. Take in the old section, they should be able to refab that over the counter. We have a NAPA not too far away so I'll give them a try, hopefully they will have more knowledge than the guys I found at the ot...
