Re: Leaks and level of difficulty replacing wisdom needed!

I’ve got that oil filter on three engines. I tighten the thru bolt about 1/4 turn at a time till the leak stops. The leak near the parking brake COULD be from the seal, which I believe is the same PN as the seal on the front of the rear diff. Both are not a big deal to change. I suspect that the par...

Re: Not just junkers- 1970 on OK $32k

This Patrol is about 1 mile from my home. I’ve known the current owner for many years.
He often buys and sells interesting vehicles.
I’m happy to go look at anything in more detail if somebody is interested.

Is the “map tray” under the dash a common OEM item I’ve never noticed before?

Re: So one thing led to another

I considered modifying some available 14 mm switches a few years ago. But the 14mm is already about 2 mm smaller than the 5/8 hole. That would require a VERY thin-walled threaded bushing. My 68 1/2 has the correct switch from my 69 parts Patrol, but I have a spare trans and a bunch of 14 mm switches...

Re: Bad distributor point spring mount/insulator

The plastic insulator comes pressed into the points. Some were plastic/nylon, some were Bakelite. The point sets are available. They also fit the British/Japanese E1 four cylinder engine in my L320 pickup. I’ll PM you my contact info, then mail you a used set. Wary of newfangled stuff, I’ve carried ...

Re: Wanted…Door Stop

I purchased a pair of those about 8 years ago for $600… Included in that price was the rest of the Patrol.

Re: Engine Stall Problem

You’ve likely found and cleaned it already, but there is a small screen inside the “banjo” fitting that attaches the fuel line to the carb.

Re: Rough Running Patrol

Another thought…Have you done a compression test? Perhaps an intake valve is leaking slightly. This can also disturb the low rpm mixture of nearby cylinders. Adjusting the valve clearances can also smooth out roughness.
