Re: Windshield frame without visor mounts?
No, the three-vent frame appears to be very original.zed wrote:Any chance the PO had the holes filled prior to a repaint?

Re: Windshield frame without visor mounts?
It sounds like your current windshield frame was from a later Patrol. Two vents and standard visors started in '68. Before that I think the only option was aftermarket or ordering some when they became available and using sheet metal screws. I have a '66 that has some but think the original owner a...

Windshield frame without visor mounts?
When did they start adding sun visors to Patrol windshield frames? My '65 has a newer, two-vent frame with visor mounts. I just picked up a three-vent frame for a hardtop that doesn't have sun visor mounts. Seems crazy to me sun visors weren't an option at some point.

Re: Possible Overdrive Setup
This style overdrive is essentially a two-speed gearbox added to the back of the transfer case. When engaged, power travels through the middle of the overdrive to the planetary, then to the outer gear back through the transfer case gears. http://hermtheoverdriveguy.com/overdrive-barrel-gear This is ...

Re: Possible Overdrive Setup
I know I'm a bit late to the party, but I find the idea of a bolt-on overdrive fascinating! Anyone get any further on this issue? My father-in-law and I just picked up an overdrive for his 50's military Jeep. I was having a hard time wrapping my head around how exactly it worked until I had one in m...

Re: Back Seats / Top
Great looking truck! I'm with River on this one. I also have kids and they absolutely love having facing jump seats. No one has ever hassled us driving around Phoenix and abroad. The main upgrades I did for safety was to install new lap belts ($20 a piece with mounting hardware) all around, three fo...

Re: Speedometer Cable
I actually got a new speedo cable for an old 240z that fit perfect for my '65. I'll scrounge around for the part number and get back with you.

Differential lockers for stock Patrol axles
Hey guys! It's been a while since I've posted anything, but I have potentially very exciting news for anyone that wants lockers for their stock light-duty Patrol axles. I've been researching the subject for a while now, convinced that the Patrol carrier HAD to be modeled after or was similar to some...

1965 Trans Rebuild Woes
Hi guys!, I'm in the middle of rebuilding my transmission and I have a problem. At some point in its life, my trans gears were marinating in water and have become pretty pitted. Does anyone have a trans with good internals that they would be willing to sell? Mine is completely torn down and now's th...
