Re: So one thing led to another

I love the shift knobs too, where did you source those? I searched, but I couldn't find the info. I found a custom knob maker on Facebook and they turned out amazing. Sorry I can't say who though. Wish I could say this is a huge update, but I feel like I've barely made any progress. Last episode I ...

Re: So one thing led to another

The truck sitting on her own weight! Rolling Chassis.jpg No leaks, it rolls, stops if I use the hand brake, and steers! One thing I was waiting on was trying to figure out the driveshaft situation. Removing the old U-Joints ruined them and there aren't any replacements. I know some have mentioned To...

Re: So one thing led to another

Imagine putting the engine in with the body still on. :D I'd absolutely get help for that then! I'd also have had to move the truck out of the garage, so I'm glad that's not the case. Unfortunately, neither of those reverse switches work. They're14MM fine thread and the switch needs to be 5/8 fine ...

Re: So one thing led to another

Why do something once when you can do it twice and take 10x longer? The past few months have been spent going back over things I've already done but that I wasn't pleased with, so progress is still agonizingly slow. Last time I updated the engine was in, but I couldn't get the thing to line up, so o...

Re: So one thing led to another

Figured out the eBrake situation thanks to the help of some kind folks, the manual, and playing around with it. Ebrake.jpg With that finally done and adjusted I went back to cleaning and cleaning up past lazyness. Engine Side.jpg Alternator and Bracket.jpg Alternator Bracket.jpg Two things I've neve...

Re: So one thing led to another

It doesn't look bad the differential gears. Is your axle fitted with locking hubs? Maybe the lack of movement and some water condensation over the years. This would explain it I think. I'm not sure how comfortable I am taking the hub assembly apart to clean it and put fresh oil in though. I'm guess...

Re: So one thing led to another

Been a long time since I've been here. I feel like this thread should be further down than it is! Shockingly progress has been slow. Fortunately, there's mostly good reasons for that. Reason one was the garage update continues Insulation.jpg Drywall.jpg Mini AC.jpg First up was of course insulation,...

Here’s one more that needs some love in Salem Oregon Link is to Facebook only https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/801768187908681/ That led down quite the rabbit hole! The other one in that post is for sale as well for $4,800. Curiously, there's another Patrol in Medford, OR for sale that's q...

Re: So one thing led to another

Test fitting the brake/hub assembly. Making sure nothing goes missing (I hope) due to time Brake-Hub Assembly.jpg With that mostly done it was finally time to get the engine/transmission out. Based on the horror stories people told of the engine's weight I was expecting it to be harder, but fortunat...

Thanks, I assumed it would be more specialized, but I'm glad to be wrong. I'll go hunting this weekend.
