I knew nothing of this until I stumbled upon it in my usual forum-hopping.http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=582968I can remember seeing the Patrol, I think on the front page, around the time I joined about 4 years ago.Truely a shame, being as young as he was.

Jeepy, I followed your write-up on my Patrol. Remember the e-mails? My Patrol didnt have a rear axle or nothing.Anyway, I just wanted to say that if you plan on using it for off-road, you most definitely should consider a ladder bar.I ended up twisting my pinion in two after I put 33" A/T's on ...

Re:suspension
Heres a few morsels of info...1. Chevy half-ton running gear would be a front Dana 44 or 10-bolt, and a rear 10- or 12-bolt.2. Flat-top knuckles will fit both a Dana 44 and a 10-bolt front.3. Patrol steering boxes have the exact same splines as GM's pitman arms. You can get a drop pitman arm for a H...

Chevy v8 in nissan patrol 69
A member of Nissan4Wheelers, JMCallis, retrofitted a distributor from a 79-ish Datsun 280ZX on his Patrol with good results. I followed his instructions and retrofitted a distributor in mine too. However, I fear that the conversion doesnt allow the distributor bushings to get oiled properly.Mine sta...

Chevy 235 I6 Gasgets?
I dont know who you heard that from, but I have never heard of any similarities.Whomever may have told you this may have confused the Patrol for the Landcruiser. The Landcruiser's I-6 shares many parts with a Chevy 235. So many that many believe the Landcruiser's engine is just a Japanese version of...

Well, heres some facts to get your mind to movin...1. The Nissan Patrol pitman arm has the same spline count as that of a GM steering box.2. Datsun Z-cars have similar steering boxes that mount on the inside of the frame rather than the outside.3. IHC Scout II, 70's model Ford trucks, and 80's model...

Diesel conversion?
You could swap in an SD33T out of a Scout II if you are lucky enough to find one. Theyre pretty good engines. You will lose about 30 or so horsepower, but gain alot in torque.

That more than likely has something to do with the fact that our USA Patrols have oil bath air breathers, whereas, Ive seen OZ 70's model 60-series that had paper element air breathers.
