Re: 15" steelies and new tires
Thanks all! I'm pleased with how it turned out. The wheels have a nice inset as well, closer to original.

15" steelies and new tires
So after almost a year of owning my Patrol  - I've accomplished what I wanted to with my wheels and tires. The truck came with some chrome wheels, (off a 70s Jeep I suppose), and super wide 10.5" ballon tires. I found some 15" steelies on Craigslist, as close as I could match to the...

Day 3: Great progress today. We now reliability have horn, brake, running, signal, headlights working... and a functional fuse block! (a HUGE thanks to Cam!  We cleaned a bunch of connection and cleaned up in the dash. In looking around the wiring we found this: https://photos.smugmug....

Re: Tackling a full rewire on a 67 and a few other things to
We spent some more time chasing the charging system and other issues today. The strange thing is that the alternator as it was wired was putting out 15-16 volts at normal operating RPMs, that is enough to be bad for all kinds of things. The long green lead that Rob said should go to a charging light...

Re: Tackling a full rewire on a 67 and a few other things to
Cam got here in the middle of the night last night and we are starting to look at a few things this morning. To give you an idea of where we are starting from, currently the headlights and running lights all work, but brake lights and blinkers don't - and this is the state of the fuse block. https:/...

Re: Sputtering to a Stall
ALRIGHT!!! No more carb flooding! Man, I've been messing with this carb for four months - I found and read the Rochester manual front to back, took it apart and cleaned twice, and thought I was doing something wrong and about to buy another carb I was so frustrated - probably took that thing off 30 ...

Re: Sputtering to a Stall
Thanks Esteban! We were also looking at that counter-weight, we just weren't sure what the natural state was supposed to be, or which way is open and closed. Here's a few pics of the spring. It's definitely loose, but still has spring to it, to keep the weight at about a 45° angle. When the weight i...

Re: Sputtering to a Stall
I'm still having trouble with my Rochester carb. I've taken it apart and adjusted the float level a dozen times, up a mm, then down, then up, etc. The plugs look good, and it's running great when it is. The problem is that it floods and overflows about 20m into my drive. Then I pull over, sit...
