I bought this for parts some time ago. It has potential to run and drive again. I only harvested a few minor parts from it. We just moved from Northern CA to the Black Hills of South Dakota. I brought my other Patrol and the obligatory 100+ LB totes full of parts collected, but don't have the energy...

Justin nailed it. The original drum brake backing plate utilized all six studs to bear the full braking load presented at each wheel. Disc or drum, the load is essentially the same. Applying it to 33% of the studs is the root cause of the failure.

There's some engineering not seen since the 70's and Ford's design of the infamous Pinto model, for those of you who remember that PR nightmare.

Should be no need for the secondary bracket on the manual throttle. Simply set the desired throttle position and turn the knob clockwise to lock it in place. Counterclockwise to release.

My first Patrol had these mounted to the dash or doors (can't remember). Minimal spillage, period correct and sty-ro-foam insulation to boot.

I snagged it. It looks to be correct for the later Patrols, with the flanges facing outward. We'll see when it gets here.
