There's a new ad for nissans 80th anniversary airing here in nz right now. Shows a quick slide of various classics including a mint blue Patrol. Cant find a copy online yet. Ill keep searching

The distance between the axle centers is the bearing free play . The cage can bolt down completely without any shims and it would still be loose without the other axle to balance it. Good going! As Esteban knows i found some needle bearing the correct size in NZ here. My rebuilt box is performing beatifully. A tip on the main output shaft nut, Loctite! I used loctite 243 and torqued it to spec and so far so good.

I thought I would share the method I used to repair my syncros. when I rebuilt the gearbox, I found replacement baulk rings were impossible to find. so I had mine welded on the tabs at the wear points (see first pic of wear) then filed snd reshaped them to size. well atfter rebuilding my gearbox and skimming pressure plate and flywheel last year, I finally got to having my clutch plate relined. fitted it all back in last two days. shifts nicely. the syncros I filled and reshaped work nicely. very happy now! http://i694.photobucket.com/albums/vv302/robssei/t...
