Radiator Hoses

Can anyone confirm these are correct?
Any sugestions on plumbing in the heater hose?

I have used a standard lower hose and added the heater hose nipple a few times. A couple times I used the original nipple and other times I used a 'T' that spliced in to the hose, actually cutting the hose all the way through.

Using the original nipple is not that hard, you just want to make sure to err on the side of too small: too big means a ruined hose. I make sure I an using an brand new blade in my Stanley knife, and I cut and 'X' into the hose. From the 'X' I cut out the 'V's to end up with somewhat of a circle. Then put the 2 pieces of the nipple together and tighten them down extra tight. Pay attention to the direction of the inlet at the bottom of the nipple; it needs to face towards the engine (I think). You can also use a light weight sealer for insurance. I have never had one leak.

Thanks for all the info. my nipple is rusted so I can't use it. I found a copper tee at the hardware store that has 3/4" inner diameter in length, and 1/2" middle side outlet. I think I could make this work - but I don't want the hoses to look like speghetti. I noticed some pics of patrols that use a reducer for the bypass hose. I was thinking of reducing the 1" bypass to 3/4" tee it for the heater, then expand it back to 1". I'm just not sure how to route the hoses so it looks good.

Since I adapted the heater on mine, I'm not sure what the original routing for the heater hoses are. When I did mine, I was not aware of the adapter for the 5/8" hose, so I built the following contraption, out of regular copper pipe. I used an epoxy glue made for this purpose. Nine years and counting, perfect.

The following picture shows the components. The measurements in blue are the commercial ones, and how you order this stuff. In yellow, actual measurements.
Note: my heater is only with 1/2" i.d. hoses. Original Patrol one I think is 5/8", so you can save some steps.
