water pump

Won't run? Engine, cooling system, fuel pump, carb, clutch, tranny, brakes, etc. The old messages from the NPCA 'Engine & Mechanical' category are here.

Will this water pump fit the P engine? (I had read some earlier posts of some water pumps having zerk fitting. This pump does not appear to have such.)

Also, this pump has been sitting on a shelf for several years. Do you think the seals and gaskets would still allow the pump to function and not leak?

Finally, what does it cost to have Kellogg Automotive rebuild a pump?

Thanks,
Keith

That pump will fit perfectly!

This is a revised model, with a sealed bearing. From my own experience with this type of pump, it will outlast the "zerk-type" by far.

Being a sealed bearing, it will be ok, and since the seal is actually a carbon face touching the impeller, nothing to go wrong there. Either buy it, or I'll pm you with my address

Esteban,
Thanks for the confirmation!
I made the seller an offer...if he doesn't accept you are next in line.

Thanks Keith.

I’m actually ok regarding the water pump. Have one that I rebuilt myself as a spare, and installed is one sourced from Colombia since 2012. Might be made over there.

Both pumps are like the one in your picture.
