River,

What do you mean by "has the markers of being a '65 or earlier"? All the paperwork I received with the vehicle says 69 - does the VIN suggest it is from 65?

Thanks

I think what gave me that impression was the outer door handles and the windshield. But, those are parts that could be swapped between vehicles, so I can't be definite. I would have to see other data to know more.

It is sitting in my garage. I already sent you photos of the VIN plate and frame+block #s for the registry, so let me know what else you might need!

Now I remember. I just put 2 and 3 together. I looked at your Introduce Yourself post, and the pre-restoration pics do have the '69 style doors. Your's is actually what we refer to as a '68-sold-as-a-69. I had forgotten that that was your Patrol when I posted the sale. They were all starting to look alike by then. :?

Your Patrol's doors are the two-piece doors with recessed door handles that Nissan stopped producing in mid 1966; and the windshield frame has 3 vents instead of 2, which means it also had to come from a 67 or older Patrol... 68's and 69's have 2 vents.

But honestly, I'm just nit picking here. The frame serial number, the engine serial number, and the VIN tag all match, so all the important pieces are definitely from the original 69.... 8-) And it's a great looking truck that clearly had a lot on time and attention paid to getting it restored to such excellent condition !
