How to remove steering column shaft from steering box

Bottoms out? Shimmies? Shackles, springs, shocks, steering linkage etc. The old messages from the NPCA 'Suspension' category are here.

Hi guys.
Couldn't find anything on this. Assume I don't have to dismantle the entire steering box? I'm a 1978 built model.

As you said, all models are basically the same. I don't know if there's going to be enough clearance to bring the column shaft out once removed from the steering box, since the steering box will be in the way.

Is there a reason why you want to remove only the column shaft? And if you already did, could you describe how and post a couple of pictures? Thanks.
