Tie rod end adjustment.

Bottoms out? Shimmies? Shackles, springs, shocks, steering linkage etc. The old messages from the NPCA 'Suspension' category are here.

As we should all know, the tie rod ends are adjustable and within that end is a spring. The presence of a spring suggest that pre-load is needed for proper operation. Anybody have suggestions on proper pre-load?

I think that only a few of us have done this adjustment. I just adjusted by feeling it, tight enough that I could still move it by hand, although with some effort. Much like a typical tie rod of any car.

For some newer members that are not aware of this, since the manufacturer doesn't have instructions for it, they can refer to the following thread to see how it's done.
