Bush in Chassis Bracket for leaf spring shackles

Bottoms out? Shimmies? Shackles, springs, shocks, steering linkage etc. The old messages from the NPCA 'Suspension' category are here.

This could be handy for some. Great idea Michael. Is it possible to have a reference for those bushings?

Peter60, is it possible to have the measurements of the bushing you're working now?

The bushes I found (along with shackle plates and shackle bolts) are for trailers. Well they are sold by a trailer parts supplier.

The bushes size is
ID 16mm
OD 7/8″ or 22mm
Length 60mm The length is a little long and I need to cut them down to about 56mm.

See

I didn't look for nylon bushes.

EDIT. I haven't receives these yet! I'll confirm the fit in a few days.
Not sure if I will get there.
Not sure if I will get back.
But I usually do!!!

Nice !

How good is the emotional inversion when you feel it move, hear that "crack" and you realise you're finally winning the battle !?!

I ended up getting nylon bushes (as suggested by G60michael). The stainless steel ones were out of stock and I didn't want to wait.

I changed my order and got 7 nylon bushed for the price of 2 SS bushes.

I can confirm they fit.

The bushes size is
ID 16mm
OD 7/8″ or 22mm
Length 60mm The length is a little long and I needed to cut them down to about 56mm.

Reference for Nylon bushes https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/60mm-Nylon- ... 4b12e5452b

I oiled them slightly and hammered/pressed them in. Perfect fit.

However I do wonder how long the nylon bushes will last.
