Glass Tail Lights lens

Well I SCREWED up BIG time.....

Working on the patrol Today, and did the scramble of my life as I fumbled a tail light lens and ended up after 10 times trying to catch the lens ended up dropping it into a ton of broken pieces.


So I need one, can I even buy them.....So pissed right now.

That is precisely why they are so rare. Always, always, always, set a big ol' blanket or comforter or pillow underneath your work area before attempting to remove a glass lens. I have broken at least a couple of them myself and yes I know exactly how you feel right now. Your knee is dislocated from kicking yourself.

Save the reflector part, you might need it. I have to go out to my shed in a little while to check on my pregnant kitty, so I will check my inventory of glass lenses. I seem to recall that I have one that doesn't have the reflector in it. *fingers crossed*

Okay, everyone start laughing but until you replace it epoxy ir together and buff flat the squeezed out glue.
SP, stop rolling your eyes at me ....if you dont do this the Patrol gods will fill up your new cross member with mud.

Have not done anything yet, River does have one. I did find all the pieces not sure if I should try to glue it our not, I guess it would not hurt.

I've used pontiac "hot rod" round lenses. I have not tried to swap the glass, I used the whole light. The big downfall is the wires are not in a waterproof seal. So if you have the old ones I'm sure you can make it work.

There are some hot rod ones that are a little smaller than the Pontiac which is 4.25" The baby hot rod ones are 3 5/8" and you don't have to make a larger hole. You do have to drill two holes for the studs to hold them on.

These lights work for the front with only modifying the stud holes some. They have glass lenses and are 3 3/4" diameter closer to the stock size. 1947- 1948 Ford park lights, 1942 - 1947 Ford truck / hot rod lights
