Heater Vent hoses & fresh air intake hose

Post by bosque »

I will add a shot of the fresh air hose (3"-3 1/2" from Gates also) when I find it. This hose is not original but looks very good and close. The original vent hose was spring wrapped with canvas.

You can use your own springs and use some of this 2" Fabric Heat Shrink Tubing it looks like canvas and it comes in 6' lengths

Here are some pictures not a perfect solution. If the coil is all beat up I would not recommend this because every imperfection shows when it shrinks into the voids. You can use the fabric heat shrink just to repair over your existing hose material but you will be trapping in years of dirt. The rubber connectors are trashed on mine so I bought some hose reducers but they can get pretty expensive.

You could wrap the new gates brand with the shrink "mink coat"! ;)
